Who We Are

Our team is led by industry veterans like Rick G. Braun, PLS, who began his surveying career in British Columbia in 1971. With professional licenses in Arizona, Alaska, and Hawaii, and a background that includes serving as a city planner and engineer in Petersburg, Alaska, Rick brings over five decades of diverse surveying and engineering experience. Supporting our field operations is Levi Nash, our skilled Survey Crew Chief. A Northern Arizona University graduate with a B.S. in Geography and over ten years in the field, Levi has worked on a wide range of projects, from FEMA certifications to federal infrastructure and drone-based surveying. Together, Rick, Levi, and the Mogollon team deliver precision, local expertise, and trusted service you can build on.

Our Engineering team is led by Ian F. Braun, P.E., a seasoned land development engineer with 20 years of experience, including 13 years serving clients in the City of Flagstaff. Ian began his career in Southeast Alaska and is licensed in 12 states, including Arizona, Nevada, North Dakota, Florida, Utah, Idaho, Tennessee, South Dakota, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Oregon, and Mississippi. He is joined by Ryan Mahar, P.E., who brings 12 years of land development experience in Flagstaff, and Matt Watson, whose 30-year career in civil design has been rooted in the City of Flagstaff. Supporting the team is Rob Begley, P.E., P.L.S., a trusted consultant and the founder of Mogollon Engineering & Surveying who has 35 years of engineering and surveying experience in the region. With deep expertise in residential, commercial, and industrial land development—and as proud alumni of Northern Arizona University—Ian, Ryan, and Rob exemplify the local knowledge, technical excellence, and continuity that define Mogollon Engineering & Surveying.
